Intended for family getaways on the Blanco River, this second home needed to accommodate connected spaces for family gatherings, multiple bedrooms, and views of the stunning Hill Country landscape — all while maintaining an economical design. Our Austin architecture team decided to lean into the Texas vernacular style with a modern approach. Large roof overhangs and covered porches provide relief from the hot summer sun and additional areas to gather. Large window expanses are shaded while still framing the relaxing views outside. An open space offers distinct zones at the kitchen bench, built-in banquette, and living area.
